HOW THE NAME BEGAN

As I was going through treatments, I would have alone time praying, researching, and hoping on our back porch which overlooks a grove of pecan trees. A red cardinal would perch and sing daily in the moments of prayer, then fly off into the grove only to return the next day. It's like God sent him to let me know He was listening. If you don't know, a red cardinal is a symbol of God's power and fire. The name "Songbird Grove" is a symbolic combination of the reminder of God's power and the analogy of the group of women who continue to sing in the walk through infertility.

OUR STORY

My husband and I had gone through the infertility treatments journey, with me having countless surgeries, 7 unsuccessful intrauterine inseminations (IUIs), 4.5- yes, 4.5 unsuccessful in vitro fertilizations (IVFs), 3 rounds of Clomid, hundreds of shots, and felt the physical and emotional pain with multiple chemical pregnancies. Infertility is hard and expensive.

For 9 years we have waited in our "childless" life focusing on Songbird Grove and growing our knowledge and empathy to help others. As a Christian, I truly believe God grows us to learn to trust Him. Our story is not over! In December 2024 we adopted 2 embryos from a loving family (who previously did their own IVF.) In October 2025, we had the sad reality that neither precious embryo would have life here on Earth; neither transfer worked for us. We were so sure God led us down that path to bless us with those children. The beauty that came from that chapter has clearly been to encourage embryo adoption to families with frozen embryos and to educate them on the possibilities and adoption styles. In November of 2025 we began the adoption journey with an agency and finished our homestudy! In January of 2026 we experienced an adoption "disruption" just days before we expected to bring the baby home. We experienced deep sadness and grief, but we are still prayerfully hopeful to match with an expectant mother for an adoption opportunity! We would love to connect with anyone looking for an adoptive family. We know God will give us what we need in His timing.
